Appreciation Ceremony Held for Political Analysts, Journalists, and Media Officials
Tuesday (21 Ramadan 1447 AH) — The Ministry of Information and Culture held an appreciation ceremony to recognize and honor political analysts, journalists, and media officials for their valuable contributions and dedicated service in carrying out their professional responsibilities.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani; the Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs, Muhajir Farahi; the Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Hamdullah Fitrat; the Head of the General Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Values, Mufti Mohammad Tahir Kohbandi; along with other government officials, political analysts, media representatives, and journalists.
The gathering aimed to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts and activities of media institutions, journalists, political analysts, and activists for their role in serving the public and contributing to national awareness.
During his remarks, the Honourable Minister stated that safeguarding the system and maintaining security are responsibilities shared by all members of society. He emphasized that political analysts and media institutions play a crucial role in raising public awareness and strengthening political understanding, particularly during times of conflict.
He further noted that the interests of the Afghan nation are shared and collective, and that safeguarding them requires joint responsibility and cooperation. The Minister stressed that media outlets must report facts accurately and convey a true and authentic image of Afghanistan to the international community. He also highlighted that there is no linguistic, regional, or ethnic superiority among the people of Afghanistan, emphasizing that unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect prevail across the country.
The Minister also warned that certain biased media outlets attempt to mislead the public by disseminating inaccurate and misleading reports. He stressed that it is the shared responsibility of both government officials and media professionals to prevent the spread of misinformation and to ensure that factual information reaches the public.
Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs Mujahir Farahi expressed his appreciation to media organizations, political analysts, intellectuals, writers, journalists, and social media activists for their support of the country’s security forces during recent developments.
Mr. Farahi added that just as the brave forces of the Islamic Emirate carried out targeted operations against the enemy, media professionals, journalists, and political commentators also stood alongside the Islamic Emirate by supporting its stance and working to inform and raise awareness among the public. He emphasized that in all fields of effort and engagement, activities should remain aligned with the policies of the Islamic Emirate to ensure that ethical standards and principles are upheld.
Similarly, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Hamdullah Fitrat, stated that the Pakistani military violated Afghanistan’s airspace, resulting in harm to innocent civilians. He emphasized that media institutions play an important role in safeguarding the psychological well-being of the public and acknowledged that media professionals effectively fulfilled their responsibilities in this regard. He also commended the role of media officials, journalists, and political analysts for their active and constructive engagement during the “Radd al-Zulm” operations.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Qari Abdul Sattar Saeed, Head of the Department for the Collection and Organization of Jihadi Works; Fazl Manullah Mumtaz, representing political analysts; and Faridullah Mohammadi, Head of TOLO News, speaking on behalf of journalists, described support for the Islamic system as an important responsibility of the media. They emphasized that, as in the past, media institutions should continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with other state institutions during challenging times and fulfill their responsibilities effectively. They noted that the media constitute one of the pillars of the system, and that safeguarding and strengthening the system is difficult without their active participation.
