The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture held a meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of China to discuss matters of mutual cultural interest
On Wednesday (1st of Rabi Al-Awali 1446), Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, the Deputy Minister of Art and Culture of the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with the Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China (Deputy Ambassador Bao Zhou Hui) to discuss mutual cultural interests between the two countries.
Mr. Hui stated that: China and Afghanistan share a common cultural heritage and have historically maintained good relations. He expressed happiness that Afghans are now living in peace and security after decades of uncertainty.
Mr. Hui also mentioned that China aims to strengthen its cultural relations with Afghanistan, and a joint professional delegation of the Chinese Archaeological Administration will be visiting Afghanistan next week. The delegation will work with Afghan archaeologists to help protect historical artifacts in the National Museum and the Miss Aynak site, with a focus on expediting the Miss Aynak project.
Mawlavi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Art and Culture, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy. He emphasized that Afghanistan is rich in historical sites and monuments and expressed hope that many ancient areas and historical sites in Afghanistan will be restored with China's assistance due to their expertise and capabilities in this field.
Mr. Azizi described the arrival of Chinese archaeologists in Afghanistan as an important step and promised to provide them with the necessary facilities for their work. He mentioned that a joint working delegation of archaeologists and experts from the Ministry of Information and Culture will conduct research and evaluation in various historical areas of Afghanistan, expecting significant achievements.
