Commission for the Reform of Billboards and Promotional Advertisements Conducts Supervision in Kabul’s 10th District

As part of its ongoing field operations, the Commission for the Reform of Billboards and Promotional Advertisements, operating under the Deputy Ministry of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, conducted a supervision and assessment visit to the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan area of Kabul’s 10th District.

The monitoring program commenced with remarks from Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Head of Cultural Affairs at Kabul Municipality, who, together with members of the Commission, discussed the importance of the area and the process of reforming and regulating billboards and advertisements. They also engaged with media representatives and local business leaders to emphasize the cultural and linguistic standards that guide the initiative.

Following the discussion, the Commission’s delegation met with shopkeepers and business owners along the route from Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Square to Public Health Square, where they provided detailed explanations of the Commission’s procedures, regulations, and quality standards. Participants were encouraged to ensure their advertising materials comply with the approved national guidelines.

During the inspection, the Commission’s technical experts presented revised and linguistically appropriate texts in national languages to replace nonstandard signs and offered individual recommendations to improve the accuracy and cultural relevance of promotional content.

Local business owners expressed appreciation for the Commission’s efforts, commending the initiative as a valuable step toward promoting national languages, protecting cultural identity, and improving the overall aesthetic and professionalism of public advertising in the city.

It is worth noting that during this inspection, over 80 billboards and promotional advertisements were reviewed and corrected in accordance with the Commission’s standards.
