Dotar is one of Afghanistan’s cultural heritages.
Recently, an issue went viral on social media about the Iranian effort to register Dotar, the untouched cultural heritage of Afghanistan and regional music as its cultural heritage at the UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritages. Hariva or the current Herat is the birthplace of Dotar , which is reminded in the Avesta’s Vedic songs and also is recalled in the Shahnama. We have cultural commonalities with the regional countries and as a result of which we are linked with other as a brother nation and have to respect each other cultural values and other honors of other countries. The Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan about Dotar as the cultural heritage of the people of Afghanistan would share its clarification with the needed reasons and full information, through official sources with International Office on Cultural Heritages to get comprehensive information about the issue. Also the ministry of Information and Culture thanks the culturist people of Afghanistan, particularly the Herati men of culture for raising their voice in the connection.
