Deputy Minister Holds Online Coordination Meeting with Afghan Cultural Attachés Abroad

Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Information and Culture, held an online coordination meeting with Afghan cultural attachés serving abroad to discuss their activities, operational challenges and proposals. Mohammad Shafiq Ahmadzai, Head of the Directorate of Foreign Relations and Cultural Attachés, and officials from the Directorate of Finance and Administrative Affairs also attended the meeting.
Mawlawi Jamal said such meetings were important for strengthening coordination, exchanging experience and hearing the concerns and proposals of cultural attachés. He described them as cultural representatives of the Islamic system and stressed that addressing their challenges would help them perform their duties more effectively.
The cultural attachés welcomed the meeting and briefed participants on their completed and ongoing activities. They raised several challenges, including difficulties in recruiting staff, securing transport and meeting financial and other administrative needs. They also presented proposals to improve their work and called for their concerns to be addressed.
The attachés highlighted the role of cultural and historical heritage in fostering relations among nations. They identified promoting Afghanistan’s cultural, historical and tourism potential abroad as one of their key priorities. They also emphasised the importance of coordinating with diplomats at foreign embassies in Kabul and providing the facilities needed to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
Officials from the Directorate of Finance and Administrative Affairs discussed the concerns and proposals raised by the attachés and pledged to make efforts to address them.
Concluding the meeting, Mawlawi Jamal reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to following up on the issues raised. He said further meetings would be held with the relevant institutions to work towards resolving the attachés’ problems and addressing their proposals.
