The protection and rehabilitation of historical monuments are the priorities of the Ministry of Information and Culture

On Tuesday, 3 Mohar ul Haram 1446, the minister of information and culture, Alhaj Mullah Khair Ullah Khairkhwa, met with Ajmal Miwandi, cultural director of the Agha Khan Organization, at his office. 

Mr. Khairkhwa said during the meeting that ancient historical monuments and ancient sites represent cultural history and the cultural identity of the nation, and he mentioned the coordination of the Ministry of Information and Culture with the organization that works for the rehabilitation and protection of historical monuments. 

Following that, cultural director Jamil Miwandi of the Agha Khan organization spoke about their current activities and added that the Agha Khan organization has completed several projects in different provinces of the country and is working on several projects such as the standard rebuilding of Babaji mosque, cultural park in bala hisar and environmental change around Kabul river, rebuilding of the 5th minaret of the Herat historical mosque and rehabilitation of the Khwaja Abdullah Ansari roof which was effected by earth quack  and protection of the historical site around the mis inak project. 

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Khairkhwa appreciated the Agha Khan organization's cultural department's activities in the protection and rehabilitation of ancient and historical monuments.
