A delegation from the Ministry of Information and Culture visited Badakhshan

On Saturday, March 16, 2024 (16 Sha’ban 1446), a delegation led by Mavlawi Qudratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance, and Administration at the Ministry of Information and Culture, visited Badakhshan province to evaluate the operations of the Directorate of Information and Culture. During the visit, he emphasized the directorate’s essential role in cultural preservation and public engagement.
Deputy Minister Mr. Jamal stressed the importance of effectively communicating the local government’s achievements and initiatives to the public through the directorate’s media and publications. He noted that the primary purpose of his visit was to review the directorate’s operations, engage with the staff, address challenges, and evaluate key accomplishments. He described the Directorates of Information and Culture as vital institutions for promoting government transparency and fostering public awareness.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Arif Farooqi, the Head of Arts and Culture at the Badakhshan Directorate of Information and Culture, provided a comprehensive briefing on the directorate’s establishment, youth engagement initiatives, cultural and artistic programs, information services, and tourism development efforts. He also advocated for increased efforts to protect and restore Badakhshan’s historical monuments.
Mr. Farooqi mentioned that Badakhshan is home to 29 historical sites, 120 recreational areas, 11 radio stations, and three television channels. He highlighted that cultural programs and poetry gatherings are regularly organized in collaboration with local cultural figures, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the region’s rich heritage.
