International Museums Day Marked in Kabul

Kabul (BNA) The International Museums Day was commemorated yesterday by the ministry of information and culture in Kabul.
In a ceremony held on this occasion in national museum with participation of a number of officials of the ministry, government officials and foreign guests, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi while congratulating the International Museums Day to all the people of Afghanistan said celebration of the day was aimed to take active part in preservation of pleasant traditions and expansion of the country’s culture as well as to reflect the country’s history and identify to new generation.
In the ceremony, head of UNESCO to Kabul said that national museums were the sign of countries’ identify and culture, praising employees of the national museum for preservation of the historic artifacts.
In the meantime, in the ceremony, head of crimes for the ministry of interior handed over five historic artifacts including Buddha statue, coins, lantern, and bead to head of national museum.
