Deputy Minister for Publications Meets Media Representatives and Journalists in Laghman

Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications at the Ministry of Information and Culture, and Mawlawi Safiullah Raed, Director of Media Monitoring, met media representatives and journalists during a visit to Laghman province to hear their concerns and discuss their requests and proposals.
During the meeting, the Director of Information and Culture in Laghman said the media situation in the province had improved compared with previous years. However, he noted that further efforts were needed to improve access to information, strengthen journalists’ professional capacity and address challenges related to media frequencies, electricity costs and taxation.
Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi assured media representatives and journalists that their concerns would be followed up. He said he had held several meetings with officials from relevant institutions to discuss problems concerning electricity bills, taxes and media frequencies, and expressed hope that these issues would be resolved soon. He also pledged to follow up on the proposals raised by media representatives and journalists.
During his visit, Farahi also inspected the public library and regional museum managed by the Laghman Directorate of Information and Culture. He gave the relevant officials recommendations on promoting a culture of reading, enhancing young people’s academic capacity, and improving the preservation of historical artefacts.
