The fifth anniversary of the Islamic Emirate’s victory and Afghanistan’s independence, observed on 24 Asad, was celebrated across the country with grand ceremonies attended by leaders of the Islamic Emirate, religious scholars, mujahideen, tribal elders and members of the public. The ceremonies included military and sporting displays, as well as theatrical performances by government institutions and young people.

On 24 Asad 1400 (August 15, 2021), with the support of the Afghan people and following unprecedented sacrifices, the Islamic Emirate defeated the United States and its allies politically and militarily and re-established the Islamic system in Afghanistan. The date was subsequently designated as a historic and proud day in the country’s history.

Following the re-establishment of the Islamic system, security has been ensured across the country, allowing people from all sectors of society to live safely. Over the past five years, the Islamic Emirate has achieved significant progress in the political, cultural, economic, military and social spheres.

During ceremonies marking the fifth anniversary of the victory, people enthusiastically exchanged congratulations and described the occasion as a day of pride in Afghanistan’s history. In various provinces, large numbers of residents also attended patriotic poetry gatherings held last night to commemorate the occasion.
