Officials from the Herat Directorate of Information and Culture announced that the restoration work on the park is now finished and it will soon be accessible for public use.
According to the officials, revitalizing this park is crucial for preserving historical values, creating green spaces, providing recreational areas for the community, and establishing a welcoming environment to attract both domestic and international tourists. Protecting and enhancing historical monuments remains a top priority for the Islamic Emirate. Currently, restoration efforts are ongoing for several historical monuments across various districts in the province.
Meanwhile, representatives from the TIKA office, which collaborated on the park's renovation, stated that TIKA is dedicated to supporting cultural and historical projects. They emphasized that the restoration of the Herat Grand Mosque Park was conducted with respect to the historical significance of the mosque and in accordance with standards for preserving cultural heritage.
