Khost Hosts Grand Poetry Gathering to Mark the Fifth Anniversary of Afghanistan's Independence
Khost | 22 Safar 1448 AH A grand poetry gathering was held at Pashtunistan Park in Khost Province to mark the fifth anniversary of Afghanistan's Independence (24 Asad). Organized by the General Directorate of Radio Afghanistan, the event brought together thousands of citizens, poets, writers, cultural figures, and patriotic anthem performers in celebration of the occasion.
Opening the programme, Mawlawi Mohammad Sabir Saberi, Director of Information and Culture for Khost Province, welcomed the participants and stated that Afghanistan's independence had been secured through the immense sacrifices, unwavering dedication, and tireless struggle of thousands of Afghans. He described independence as a shared source of pride for the entire nation and emphasized that safeguarding this invaluable achievement is a collective responsibility of every Afghan.
Addressing the gathering, Qari Yusuf Ahmadi, Director General of Radio Afghanistan, described independence as one of the greatest blessings bestowed by Almighty Allah. He said that, over the past century, the Afghan people had defeated three of the world's major empires through extraordinary sacrifice, describing this achievement as one of the proudest chapters in the nation's history.
The event also featured performances by poets, patriotic anthem singers, and traditional vocal artists, who presented national, patriotic, and folk poems, ghazals, and anthems to commemorate the fifth anniversary of Afghanistan's Independence. Their performances were warmly received by the audience.
