MOIC Concludes Three-Day Capacity-Building Seminar for Media Professionals
Bakhtar News Agency, operating under the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, concluded a three-day capacity-building seminar for provincial information officials, newspaper and Bakhtar News Agency managers, and journalists.
The closing ceremony was attended by Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar, Director General of the Administrative Office; Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs; and other officials of the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Addressing participants, Sheikh Noor-ul-Haq Anwar described the Ministry of Information and Culture as one of the key institutions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with significant responsibilities. He said the Ministry’s importance was growing in the modern world, describing it as the voice and ears of the system.
Anwar said negative propaganda and ideological warfare against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan were expanding. He urged media professionals to counter these efforts by disseminating facts and called on them to make greater efforts to publicize and implement the decrees issued by the leadership.
He also referred to developments in the media sector, saying that project-based media outlets had been curbed. He said the Islamic Emirate was committed to freedom of expression in accordance with Islamic and Afghan values. He added that the public did not want freedom characterized by excess or neglect, or freedom used as a pretext to violate human values.
During the seminar, professional instructors provided training on media, news writing, reporting and social media to provincial information officials, newspaper and Bakhtar News Agency managers, and journalists.
The seminar concluded with Bakhtar News Agency presenting certificates of appreciation to participants. The Ministry’s broader efforts to strengthen media professionals’ capacities and develop the media sector will continue.
