Billboard and Signage Reform Commission Conducts Follow-up Review in Kabul’s Eighth District

The Billboard and Signage Reform Commission, under the Deputy Ministry of Publications within the Ministry of Information and Culture, has carried out a follow-up review and monitoring of billboards and advertising signs in Kabul’s Eighth District as part of its ongoing field activities.
At the beginning of the program, Enamullah Amani, a representative from the Cultural Directorate of Kabul Municipality and a member of the commission, provided an overview of the findings and outcomes from previous inspections conducted in the area.
Following the overview, the commission members conducted a thorough follow-up assessment of billboards and advertising signs throughout the district. Owners and responsible parties of signs that had previously been instructed to make corrections but failed to do so were once again given the necessary recommendations and guidance to ensure compliance.
Additionally, billboards and advertising signs with content that was deemed inconsistent with Islamic Sharia, national culture, and the country’s official languages were removed by the sanitation department of Kabul Municipality.
The assessment included 80 billboards and advertising signs. Furthermore, a total of 120 billboards and advertising signs had already been registered and reviewed during earlier inspection activities.
