Director of Information and Culture Visited the Historical fort of Nariman (Kalvin)
Yesterday, the Director of Information and Culture of Badghis Province, Akhundzada Mutiullah Muttaqi, visited the historic fort of Nariman (Kalvin), which is under threat of destruction.
According to Mr. Muttaqi; “The historic Nariman fort is located 70 kilometers from the center of Badghis, which was also known as (Nartu) fort in the past. It has a historical antiquity of about 2000 years, the natives of the area call the founder of this historic fort (Sam Nariman) and consider it to be related to the era of Hazrat Suleiman (AS), but scholars say that the structure of the fort is related to the Islamic period. There is also the tomb of Imam Asghar, who played a role in the conquest of Badghis and surrounding areas in the early days of Islam.”
Similarly, there are pools of water and deep wells between the rocks in this fort, which are surprising for the visitors.
Mr. Muttaqi says: “we have sent proposals to the Ministry of Information and Culture for the restoration of this historical fort, and we hope that the ministry will pay attention to this matter.”
