The Cultural Attaché of the Ministry of Information and Culture in Turkey Meets with the Director of Foreign Affairs at the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs
The Cultural Attaché of the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Turkey, Qari Hamidullah Tamkeen, met with Mr. Ansari Yeni Türk, Director of Foreign Affairs at the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, in his office in Ankara.
Mr. Ansari Yeni Türk warmly welcomed the Cultural Attaché, expressing his pleasure at the visit. He described the meeting as a reflection of the mutual commitment of the two brotherly nations to strengthening and expanding cultural, religious, and academic relations. He further noted that the ties between Afghanistan and Turkey are founded on shared Islamic values and deep historical and cultural connections.
Qari Hamidullah Tamkeen expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for its diverse academic and educational cooperation. He discussed in detail various areas of collaboration, including facilitating opportunities for Afghan students to pursue religious and Sharia studies from undergraduate to doctoral levels, the admission of Darul Uloom students, the provision of education for Afghan students from grades nine to twelve, and the continuation of advanced specialization programs (Fi al-Fiqh) for graduates of the Faculty of Sharia.
Mr. Ansari Yeni Türk expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing and growing bilateral cooperation, assuring that the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs remains ready to extend all possible assistance and collaboration to the Islamic Emirate in academic, cultural, and religious fields. He added that the number of scholarships for Afghan students pursuing religious and Sharia education—from bachelor’s to doctoral levels—would be increased. Furthermore, educational opportunities would be provided for Darul Uloom students from grades nine to twelve, as well as for memorizers of the Holy Qur’an.
He also announced that two official invitations would be sent to the Embassy of the Islamic Emirate in Ankara for participation in the International Qur’an Memorization and Recitation Competition in Turkey, allowing two qualified Afghan participants to take part. In addition, he expressed readiness to host ten distinguished Afghan scholars at the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs for academic conferences and exchange of views.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mr. Ansari Yeni Türk emphasized that the Republic of Turkey has always stood by the people and government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continued support and cooperation across various fields.
