Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs Visits Herat Province
Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture, led an official delegation to Herat Province. During this visit, he met with senior officials from the Herat Directorate of Information and Culture.
Mawlawi Ahmadullah Muttaqi, the Director of Information and Culture in Herat, emphasized the province’s rich historical and cultural significance. He pointed out that Herat is not only one of Afghanistan’s oldest provinces but also recognized as a major hub for culture, education, and arts. He noted that the city, known for its numerous historic monuments, Islamic architectural masterpieces, and revered shrines, has significant potential to attract both domestic and international tourists. Furthermore, he observed a noticeable increase in tourist visits recently, indicating Herat’s growing appeal as a cultural and historical destination.
During the meeting, directors and staff from various departments within the Directorate presented detailed reports on their activities, challenges, urgent needs, and proposed initiatives to the deputy minister. After reviewing these briefings, Deputy Minister Jamal emphasized the importance of preserving and restoring Herat’s invaluable heritage sites, promoting the tourism industry, and strengthening cultural programs. He assured local leaders of the ministry’s commitment to taking practical steps to address current issues and support sustainable development in the sector.
Additionally, the deputy minister conducted thorough inspections of several divisions within the Directorate of Information and Culture during his visit.
