The Commission for the Regulation of Billboards and Advertisements Conducts Inspection in Kabul’s 5th District
As part of its ongoing field activities, the Commission for the Regulation of Billboards and Advertisements, operating under the Deputy Ministry of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, carried out an inspection of billboards and promotional advertisements in the Company area of Kabul’s Fifth District.
The program began with remarks from the Head of Cultural Affairs at Kabul Municipality, Qari Wali Gul Jawad, along with members of the commission. They met with media representatives and trade union officials to discuss the significance of the area and the process of monitoring and improving billboards and advertisements.
Subsequently, the commission’s procedures and standards were shared in detail with shopkeepers and business owners in the Al-Aqsa Mosque vicinity (Company area). Participants were encouraged to align their billboards and promotional materials with the approved guidelines and quality standards.
In addition, the commission’s professional members presented alternative texts in the country’s national languages to replace non-standard billboards and advertisements, and provided constructive recommendations to several shopkeepers and business owners for improvement.
Local shopkeepers and business owners praised the efforts of the commission, describing their work as valuable for promoting national languages and preserving cultural values.
It is noteworthy that during this inspection, more than 200 billboards and promotional advertisements were reviewed and corrected.
