Director of Public Libraries Meets with Officials of the National Library of Malaysia
On 8 Safar 1448 AH Dr. Rafiullah Samim, Director of Public Libraries at the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with officials of the National Library of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur to discuss strengthening cooperation in the field of public libraries.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed achievements in the development of public libraries and discussed expanding cultural and academic cooperation. They also exchanged views on strengthening sustained institutional ties between the two countries to enhance library services and facilitate the exchange of professional expertise and experience.
The Director of the National Library of Malaysia welcomed Dr. Samim and provided an overview of Malaysia's library system and its development. He affirmed that Malaysia is fully prepared to support the strengthening of Afghanistan's public libraries and to share its expertise and best practices in the sector.
Dr. Samim expressed his appreciation to the officials of the National Library of Malaysia for arranging the meeting, noting that the exchange of knowledge and the expansion of bilateral cooperation would contribute to positive developments in the public library sector.
He also emphasized the importance of broadening cooperation between Afghanistan and Malaysia in the fields of libraries and cultural affairs, particularly in equipping Afghanistan's public libraries and advancing the digitization of library collections by drawing on Malaysia's experience, officials of the National Library of Malaysia reaffirmed their commitment to providing full cooperation in these areas.
