Six-Day Professional Skills Development Seminar for Afghan Tour Drivers Concludes

On Tuesday (11 Rabi al-Awwal 1448 AH), a six-day professional skills development seminar for 70 drivers of the Afghan Tour State-Owned Company concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.

The seminar was organized by the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, under the Directorate of Tourism Research and Development of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, as part of efforts to strengthen the professional capacity of personnel working in the tourism sector.

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal; Director of the Afghan Tour State-Owned Company Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Baha; Director of Tourism Research and Development Mawlawi Mohammad Sadiq Sadaqat; Director of Youth Affairs Mawlawi Sayyed Mohammad Dawood Agha; Director of Trade and Marketing of the Afghan Tour State-Owned Company Noor Mohammad Hassan-Khel; Head of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Mawlawi Mohammad Zaman Naseri; institute instructors; drivers of the Afghan Tour State-Owned Company; journalists; and media representatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management Mawlawi Mohammad Zaman Naseri said that the Ministry of Information and Culture is committed to providing professional training opportunities for those working in the tourism sector. He called on the participants to put their newly acquired knowledge and skills into practice and to help present a positive image of Afghanistan to foreign tourists through their professional conduct.

Deputy Minister Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal said that similar programs are being organized to strengthen the capacity of employees. He noted that drivers are among those who represent the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan people and therefore carry an important responsibility. He added that through good conduct, proper manners, and professional behavior, drivers can play an effective role in attracting foreign tourists to Afghanistan.

Director of the Afghan Tour State-Owned Company Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Baha also spoke about the responsibilities of drivers, saying that tourism is an important means of strengthening the country's economy, introducing its culture, and expanding relations. He emphasized that professional drivers have an important role to play in the development of the tourism sector.

Other speakers congratulated the participating drivers on completing the seminar and stressed that, as representatives of the country, they should treat foreign tourists with respect and good manners so that visitors develop a positive impression of Afghanistan through their conduct and character.

The speakers further noted that tourism is a multifaceted sector involving several institutions and organizations, emphasizing that greater cooperation and coordination among relevant institutions is essential for strengthening and developing the country's tourism industry.

The seminar covered a range of topics related to tourism concepts and services, hospitality, effective communication with tourists, the identification and introduction of natural, cultural, and historical attractions, and tourism transportation, providing the participants with comprehensive information and practical knowledge in these areas
