Bayhaqi Bookstall Inaugurated in Badakhshan

A bookstall established by the Directorate for the Transcription of the Holy Qur’an and the Publication of Bayhaqi Books, under the Ministry of Information and Culture, has been officially inaugurated in Badakhshan Province. The initiative is intended to promote a culture of reading and to expand public access to religious and cultural resources. The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of various Emirate institutions, alongside prominent cultural figures.

Officials from the Badakhshan Department of Information and Culture described the establishment of the bookstall as a meaningful and strategic step toward strengthening reading habits within society. They underscored the vital role of books in advancing intellectual growth and cultural development among communities.

The officials further noted that the initiative reflects a strong institutional commitment to addressing the cultural needs of the population. They expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the relevant bodies and affirmed that sustained measures will be undertaken to further enhance and expand the center.

Meanwhile, a representative of private publishers and booksellers affiliated with the Directorate stated that, in support of the bookstall, a total of 58 titles—encompassing both religious and contemporary academic works—have been donated to enrich its collection.

Cultural figures in Badakhshan welcomed the initiative, highlighting the importance of such platforms in fostering a robust reading culture and raising public awareness. They described the effort as a promising and forward-looking step toward nurturing a culturally informed and enlightened future generation.
