Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs Meets Media Representatives and Journalists in
On 4 Rabi al-Thani 1448 AH Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with representatives and journalists from several state and private media outlets in Sar-e-Pul Province.
The meeting, held at the Sar-e-Pul Directorate of Information and Culture, was attended by Mawlawi Safiullah Raed, Director of Mass Media Monitoring under the Deputy Ministry of Publications Affairs; Mullah Abdul Ghaffar Haqnama, Director of Information and Culture of Sar-e-Pul Province; and Mawlawi Saifuddin Motasim, Director of Information and Culture of Jawzjan Province.
The representatives of private media outlets and journalists welcomed the Deputy Minister and his delegation and raised a number of concerns and suggestions. These included electricity bills for media outlets and measures to facilitate the process of obtaining media licences through the provincial directorates of information and culture.
They also said that the necessary facilities for access to information are now available in Sar-e-Pul and that journalists have full access to information.
In response, Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi and Mawlawi Safiullah Raed discussed the concerns raised and the proposals put forward. They reaffirmed the Ministry of Information and Culture’s support for media outlets and journalists and said the ministry was making every effort to address the challenges facing the media.
They added that several meetings had already been held with officials of relevant institutions to address the concerns of media outlets and journalists, and that further efforts would be made to resolve the outstanding issues and support journalists.
