Delegation from the Ministry of Information and Culture Visits Kandahar Province
A delegation from the Department of Audio and Visual Affairs, under the Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Values at the Ministry of Information and Culture, led by Mr. Saadullah Asad, visited Kandahar Province.
During the visit, the delegation met with the Head of the Kandahar Department of Information and Culture, Mawlawi Enamullah Samangani. The discussion focused on documenting and preserving important sites related to the Jihadi era and the sacrifices of the Mujahideen.
Mr. Saadullah Asad said that the sites marking the Mujahideen’s sacrifices are living symbols of jihad, devotion, and independence, and should be professionally documented. He emphasized the importance of recording key historical events, such as the story of the Kandahar prison tunnel, incidents of NATO’s bombings, the memories of martyrs, and the conditions of the Mujahideen’s frontlines. He noted that preserving these memories would keep this golden chapter of history alive for future generations.
He added that these historical accounts will be compiled and published in the form of magazines, books, and video documentaries under the guidance of the Directorate for the Preservation of Jihadi Values, to present an authentic picture of the nation’s struggle for freedom and resistance.
Mawlawi Enamullah Samangani welcomed the initiative, calling it a valuable and necessary step toward protecting the nation’s historical legacy. He assured the delegation of full support and cooperation, noting that the effort would not only keep history alive but also prevent the distortion or neglect of Jihadi values.
