Commission for the Regulation of Billboards and Advertisements Holds Regular Meeting
The Commission for the Regulation of Billboards and Advertising Boards held its regular meeting in Kabul, led by Mr. Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications at the Ministry of Information and Culture.
At the beginning of the session, the commission’s secretary presented a detailed briefing on the implementation progress of previous decisions and resolutions.
The meeting focused on how to enforce Directive No. 2552 from the Office of the Prime Minister, which regulates billboards on radio and television antennas in the Asmayee Mountain area. The Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, will work to implement this directive effectively.
The commission addressed problems with billboards and advertising structures in various municipal districts. After approval, these findings will be shared with professional unions and shopkeepers through the Cultural Directorate of Kabul Municipality and the Chamber of Craftsmen and Traders. Steps will then be taken to correct and regulate these issues.
The meeting also reviewed reports from the Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan and Kabul University about finding native alternatives for foreign words and expressions. the commission decided to distribute both documents to Kabul Municipality district offices and provincial departments for wider use and public awareness.
