A two-day art and cultural exhibition titled “Wesal-e-Hunar” (Union of Art) was inaugurated at the Negaristan Department by the Directorate of Fine Arts, under the Deputy Ministry of Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture.

Officials stated that the exhibition was organized to showcase artistic talents, innovations, and achievements. It aimed to strengthen the spirit of cultural appreciation, facilitate the exchange of experiences among artists and art enthusiasts, and encourage the younger generation to engage in artistic and cultural activities. They noted that the exhibition provides visitors with an opportunity to gain a closer understanding of the works and creative capacities of Afghan artists.

The event was attended by Mawlawi Ehsanullah Hassan, head of the minister's office at the Ministry of Information and Culture; Mawlawi Mohammad Lal Munib, Director of the Directorate of Fine Arts; Lal Mohammad Walizada, Director of Sustainable Development Goals at the Ministry of Economy; as well as several teachers, calligraphers, painters, miniature artists, and youth.

In his address to the gathering, Mawlawi Ehsanullah Hassan stated that while a nation’s independence may be achieved through struggle and sacrifice, its preservation depends on knowledge and the power of the pen. He emphasized that artistic works reflect history and play an essential role in preserving a nation’s cultural identity. He further noted that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, particularly the Ministry of Information and Culture, remains committed to supporting artists and the development of the arts in all possible ways.

Lal Mohammad Walizada, Director of Sustainable Development Goals at the Ministry of Economy, described art as a powerful medium for reflecting both the positive aspects and challenges of society. He announced that, under the leadership of the Directorate of Fine Arts and in cooperation with relevant institutions, a joint committee would be established to strengthen and expand artistic activities across the country.

Meanwhile, Mawlawi Mohammad Lal Munib, Director of the Directorate of Fine Arts, delivered a presentation on the artistic styles of renowned Afghan masters Behzad and Ghulam Mohammad Maimanaigi. He noted that Afghanistan possesses distinctive and unique artistic traditions that are rarely matched elsewhere in the world. He also encouraged artists to intensify their efforts toward the promotion and advancement of the arts.

The event concluded with a theatrical and artistic performance presented by performers from the Theatre Department. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to the organizers in recognition of their efforts in arranging the exhibition.
