The Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising Conducted Follow-Up Monitoring in Kabul’s Tenth District
The Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising, under the Deputy Ministry for Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, continued its field activities by conducting follow-up monitoring of signboards and advertising materials at Majid Mall Market in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul’s Tenth District.
At the outset of the program, Mujib-ur-Rahman Sadiqi, representative of the Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, together with members of the commission, spoke with the media and representatives of guilds about the importance of the area and the procedures for reforming and monitoring signboards and advertising.
Subsequently, the guidelines and standards of the Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising were shared in detail with shopkeepers and business owners, enabling them to organize their signboards and advertisements in accordance with the established standards.
In addition, the commission’s professional members proposed alternative terms in the country’s national languages to replace non-standard signboards and advertising and provided corrective recommendations to a number of shopkeepers and business owners.
Shopkeepers and business owners in the area praised the activities of the commission and considered its efforts important for strengthening national languages and preserving cultural values.
It is noteworthy that, during this monitoring activity, more than 133 signboards and advertising materials were inspected and corrected.
