Hundreds of Journalists, Media Professionals, Writers, Cultural Figures, and Youth Attend Capacity-Building Seminar in Kapisa

Wednesday,15 Muharram 1448 AH A one-day training seminar titled “Enhancing Intellectual, Ideological, and Professional Capacity” was held in Kapisa Province for hundreds of journalists, media professionals, writers, authors, cultural figures, and young people.
The seminar was organized by the Deputy Ministry for Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, in cooperation with the Kapisa Directorate of Information and Culture.
The event brought together the Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, Deputy Minister for Publications Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, a number of ministry directors, as well as officials from local government institutions.
Opening the programme, the Director of Information and Culture for Kapisa, Mawlawi Karimullah Wasiq, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening the professional capacity of journalists and enhancing engagement with the media community, youth, and cultural figures.
He noted that the Kapisa Directorate of Information and Culture continues to work, in line with the policies of the Islamic Emirate, to further strengthen cooperation and coordination with media institutions and cultural personalities.
In his address to the seminar, the Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, highlighted the essential role of journalists and media organizations in raising public awareness, reflecting realities, and fulfilling their professional responsibilities.
He stated that opponents of the system seek to exploit negative propaganda to mislead public opinion, stressing that it is the responsibility of the media to ensure the accurate and factual transmission of information to the public.
The Minister further emphasized that the Islamic system is a divine blessing and underscored the responsibility of all citizens to contribute to its strengthening and sustainability while safeguarding religious, ideological, and national values.
Deputy Minister for Publications, Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, also referred to Pakistan’s recent attacks and called on media organizations to counter false and destructive propaganda. He urged journalists to provide extensive coverage of the achievements of the Islamic system, as well as the country’s economic progress and ongoing reconstruction efforts.
During the seminar, Mawlawi Safiullah Raied, Head of Media Monitoring; Mawlawi Abdul Haq Hammad, Adviser to the Deputy Ministry for Publications; along with several provincial officials and university lecturers, delivered presentations on the principles and foundations of journalism and the professional responsibilities of journalists.
They emphasized the importance of accurate information dissemination, the exchange of professional experience among journalists, and the role of journalism in promoting public awareness and intellectual development.
The speakers further stressed that journalists should carry out their professional duties in accordance with religious and ideological values while contributing positively to national development. They described young people as the builders of the nation’s future and highlighted the importance of intellectual development, setting clear life goals, maintaining integrity, and defending the truth.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for its organization. They also called for similar capacity-building programmes to be held in the future to further strengthen the professional skills of journalists and young people, and to support the development of their talents.
