The Balkh Directorate of Information and Culture has conducted awareness sessions for hundreds of students at several high schools in Mazar-e-Sharif on the contents of Decree No. 17 issued by the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him).
As part of the programme, stationery items and brochures containing information on Decree No. 17 and the decree concerning the establishment of prayer were distributed to students.
Officials from the Balkh Directorate of Information and Culture explained the provisions of the decree, saying the initiative was aimed at increasing awareness among students and young people and contributing to efforts to eliminate harmful customs in society.
The officials also addressed a range of social issues, including the need to avoid unnecessary and excessive spending during celebrations, mourning ceremonies and events marking the return of pilgrims from Hajj and Umrah. They also provided information on women’s rights, respect for elders and other social matters.
School principals and officials welcomed the initiative, saying that continued programmes of this kind can help raise students’ awareness and contribute to strengthening sound customs and appropriate social values in society.
