The Billboard and Signboard Reform Commission of the Ministry of Information and Culture continued its field inspections in Kabul’s Eighth District, monitoring commercial signboards and advertising billboards in the Karte Naw area.

During the visit, Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Director of Cultural Affairs at Kabul Municipality, met with media representatives, shopkeepers, and local residents to discuss the commission’s ongoing activities. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all signboards and advertisements comply with Islamic values, Afghan cultural principles, and the country’s national languages.

The commission then inspected signboards and advertising billboards across the area. The inspection found that most businesses had already updated their signboards in line with the commission’s guidelines. However, owners of signboards that contained shortcomings or did not fully meet the required standards were advised to make the necessary corrections.

The commission also instructed owners of signboards written in foreign languages to replace them with appropriate terms in the national languages.

According to the commission, a total of 250 signboards and advertising billboards were inspected during the visit.

Officials stated that inspections will continue in other districts of Kabul to ensure that signboards and advertisements throughout the city comply with established regulations and reflect the country’s cultural and linguistic values.
