Restoration of Historic Structures at Bost Castle in Helmand 45% Complete
Restoration work on two historic structures at Bost Castle in Helmand province has reached 45% completion, according to officials.
During a visit to the project, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Tayebi, Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, stressed that the work must meet professional restoration standards while preserving the structures’ historical authenticity.
He described protecting Afghanistan’s historical and cultural heritage and preventing the destruction, smuggling and illegal seizure of archaeological sites, historic buildings and artefacts as important responsibilities of the Islamic Emirate.
Ministry officials said nearly 15 million Afghanis has been allocated to restore the two structures, locally described as a taq (arched structure) and a well. The restoration work is expected to be completed within two years.
