Signage Reform Commission Reviews 200 Signs and Advertising Boards in Kabul’s Third District
On 9 Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH The Signage and Advertising Boards Reform Commission of the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs has reviewed and monitored signs and advertising boards in Kabul’s Third District as part of its ongoing field activities.
The latest inspection covered the Shaheed Intersection area, where Enamullah Amani, a representative of the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Cultural Affairs, and members of the commission briefed business owners, tradespeople and shopkeepers on the commission’s activities.
Commission members subsequently carried out a comprehensive assessment of signs and advertising boards in the area and issued recommendations for correcting a number of signs and advertisements that did not meet the required standards.
The commission’s technical specialists also proposed suitable alternatives in Afghanistan’s national languages for foreign terms and expressions used on some signs and advertising boards.
Recommendations were also issued concerning signs and advertising boards that were outdated or damaged, contained images considered inappropriate, had been installed in unsuitable locations, or featured content deemed unclear or without meaning.
In total, 200 signs and advertising boards were reviewed during the field exercise.
