On 22 Muharram 1448, the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs and the Panjshir Directorate of Information and Culture jointly organized a one-day seminar titled "Enhancing Intellectual, Ideological, and Professional Capacity." The event brought together hundreds of journalists, media officials, writers, cultural activists, and youth from Panjshir Province.
The seminar was attended by Mr. Mohajer Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs; Mullah Shah Malang Ruhullah, Deputy Governor of Panjshir; several directors from the Ministry of Information and Culture; representatives of local government institutions; and university lecturers.
Addressing the participants, Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs Mawlawi Mohajer Farahi underscored the media's important role and called on journalists to counter negative propaganda. He urged media professionals to play an active role in strengthening national unity, the Islamic system, and promoting its achievements through responsible coverage. He also emphasized disseminating and implementing the decrees of the Amir al-Mu'minin (May Allah Protect Him).
Mr Farahi further stated that, alongside achievements in the economic sector, planned aerial operations were carried out for the first time from Afghan territory against Khawarij, the centers of "mischief and corruption" inside Pakistan. He said these operations demonstrated the growing strength and capability of the country's defense forces.
Speaking at the seminar, Qari Khubaib Ghufran, Director of Public Relations and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Information and Culture, highlighted the enduring historical significance of journalists' reporting and writing. He emphasized the media's important responsibility to document events and keep the public informed. Mr. Ghufran also commended the work of Panjshir's local media outlets. He encouraged journalists to publish accurate and well-substantiated information, avoid the dissemination of unverified claims, help prevent division, and play an active and responsible role in promoting national unity and preserving Islamic values.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Information Department at the Panjshir Directorate of Information and Culture described the seminar and similar training initiatives as effective in enhancing journalists' academic and professional capacities and strengthening cooperation between media organizations and cultural institutions.
The seminar also featured presentations by Mawlawi Abdul Haq Hammad, Adviser to the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs; Dr. Shafiq Wardak, a lecturer at Kabul University; Mawlawi Abdul Mateen Azzam, Chief of the Office of the Panjshir Governor; and other speakers. They highlighted the important role of the media in supporting the Islamic system, advancing national objectives, combating prejudice, and publicizing the achievements of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. They stressed that media institutions should approach these responsibilities with professionalism and a strong sense of commitment.
The speakers also emphasized the important role of young people in the country's development, encouraging them to pursue education, strengthen their personal and professional skills, uphold moral values, demonstrate integrity, and contribute positively to society.
At the conclusion of the seminar, participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative. They called for the organization of additional programmes aimed at further enhancing the professional capacity of journalists, strengthening youth development, and promoting cultural activities.
