Afghanistan and Qatar Discuss Expanding Tourism Cooperation

Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Dr. Ali Marf Al-Qashouti, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Afghanistan, in Kabul to discuss expanding tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The two sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening the friendly and fraternal relations between Afghanistan and Qatar and expressed appreciation for Qatar’s cooperation and support for Afghanistan.
The meeting focused on several areas of potential cooperation, including attracting Qatari tourists to Afghanistan, promoting the country’s natural, historical and tourism attractions, creating opportunities for Qatari investment in the tourism sector, and establishing a formal framework for tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Mawlawi Jamal outlined Afghanistan’s tourism potential, highlighting its natural landscapes, historical monuments, ancient sites and diverse attractions. He noted that the country offers a range of opportunities for cooperation with Qatari tourists and investors.
Dr. Ali Marf Al-Qashouti, for his part, underscored the importance of relations between Afghanistan and Qatar and described culture as a fundamental element of civilization. He noted that civilizations do not easily disappear and that people play an important role in their creation, preservation and development.
The Qatari Ambassador also emphasized the importance of cultural ties between the two countries and stressed the need for continued engagement to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation between Afghanistan and Qatar.
